I created it, at first, to distance my personal identity (Myra Salsabila Alwi) from my work (Dreams Beyond Precious Ruins) when I was looking for more contributors for edition 3 through an open call.

I was bothered by how this publication is becoming synonymous with me, especially because I have other things I am excited to work on and would love to put on my personal Instagram page. I like walking in parks, food, and sports. It felt rather silly to have the open call poster up on stories, next to another one celebrating my favorite tennis player’s achievement.

So, I made a separate account for it. The grievance of naming the publication something rather long is that it’s too convoluted to be an Instagram username, so a watered-down version of it is used. @dreams.ruins.
